Your Role

Thus far, envelio has relied on external law firms coordinated by the management team for legal support. Thanks to our significant and continued growth as a company, we have now reached a scale at which we want to start to ramp-up our own legal in-house expertise. In the role as our General Counsel (f/m/d), you take over and shape this task moving ahead. You take responsibility for the coordination of all of envelio’s legal topics and consult our senior management in all legal matters. In direct report to the CEO you help shape an efficient legal set-up and collaboration with external law firms and partners. A hands-on mentality and a growth mindset are key.

How You Make an Impact

You take over and build up the in-house legal function at envelio
You report directly to the CEO and work closely together with the CEO, CTO and the management team as an advisor for all legal matters
You own, maintain and develop our customer-facing contracts, especially for software licenses, SaaS, software onboarding projects and custom development works
You consult on and support the contract negotiations with potential customers
You coordinate all of our relationships and collaboration with external law firms
You coordinate data privacy processes internally and work closely together with our external data protection officer
You act as our compliance officer overseeing all compliance-relevant matters

Your Profile

You have successfully completed the second state examination (or equivalent legal examination), demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of legal principles and regulations
You have at least 2 years experience as a practicing lawyer, specializing in IT and software related IP rights
You are a strong communicator with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in German and English, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts also to non-legal stakeholders.
You combine an hands-on and solution-oriented mentality with a strong growth mindset evolving the legal function of a scaling company
You are enthusiastic about the energy transition and scaling a software business

Deine Rolle

Bisher hat sich envelio für Rechtsberatung externe Anwaltskanzleien genutzt, die vom Management-Team koordiniert wurden. Aufgrund unseres signifikanten und kontinuierlichen Unternehmenswachstums haben wir jetzt eine Größe erreicht, bei der wir eigene juristische Expertise im Team benötigen. In der Rolle als General Counsel (w/m/d) übernimmst und gestaltest du diese Aufgabe bei envelio. Du übernimmst Verantwortung für die Koordination aller rechtlichen Themen bei envelio und berätst unsere Geschäftsführung in allen rechtlichen Angelegenheiten. In direkter Berichtslinie an den CEO hilfst du dabei, eine effiziente rechtliche Aufstellung und Zusammenarbeit mit externen Anwaltskanzleien zu gestalten. Eine Hands-on Mentalität und ein Growth Mindset sind dabei entscheidend.

Wie du etwas bewirkst

Du übernimmst und baust die interne Rechtsberatung bei envelio auf
Du berichtest direkt an den CEO und arbeitest eng mit CEO, CTO und dem Management-Team als Berater für alle rechtlichen Angelegenheiten zusammen
Du verantwortest, pflegst und entwickelst unsere kundenbezogenen Verträge, insbesondere für Softwarelizenzen, SaaS, Software-Onboarding-Projekte und kundenspezifische Softwareentwicklungsarbeiten
Du berätst und unterstützt bei Vertragsverhandlungen mit potenziellen Kunden
Du koordinierst alle unsere Beziehungen und die Zusammenarbeit mit externen Anwaltskanzleien
Du koordinierst unsere interne Datenschutzprozesse und arbeitest eng mit unserem externen Datenschutzbeauftragten zusammen
Du fungierst als unser Compliance Officer und überwachst alle Compliance-relevanten Angelegenheiten

Dein Profil

Du hast das zweite juristische Staatsexamen (oder eine gleichwertige juristische Prüfung) erfolgreich abgeschlossen und verfügst über ein umfassendes Verständnis rechtlicher Grundsätze und Vorschriften
Du verfügst über mindestens 2 Jahre Erfahrung als praktizierende/r Anwältin/Anwalt mit Spezialisierung auf IT- und softwarebezogene IP-Rechte
Du bist kommunikationsstark mit ausgezeichneten schriftlichen und mündlichen Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Deutsch und Englisch und kannst komplexe juristische Konzepte auch Nicht-Jurist:innen verständlich vermitteln
Du verbindest eine praktische und lösungsorientierte Denkweise mit einem ausgeprägten Growth Mindset für die Weiterentwicklung der Rechtsfunktion eines wachsenden Unternehmens
Du bist begeistert von der Energiewende und der Skalierung eines Software-Unternehmens
